Description: The item opens with a misplaced caption (from a missing item in the issue about Lord Northcliffe), then shows very briefly WAACs outside the church cheering, and press photographers at work. The captions describe the item as "scenes of the great Allied advance in France", as if the material were of the Advance to Victory. A distant view of smoke rising from part of the Bois de Reims, probably the Château Commetreuil near Cumas on fire on 25th July, "unable to resist Allied pressure the enemy burn their billets". 6-inch 26cwt howitzers being loaded and fired. Men "of the London Regiment" in loose marching formation moving over flat terrain. Cavalry in column of twos trotting up a road. A field battery of Italian 8th Division firing its 75mm field guns in the Bois de Reims. German dead lying in the wood on 25th July, "Allied losses were comparatively small". British, French and Italian wounded talk together beside a dressing station on the outskirts of the wood. A large group of German prisoners is marched off to the rear areas, where they have their papers and belongings checked. Men of 1/5th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment resting in the wood. Men of 6th Battalion, the Black Watch, collecting their packs on 24th July.
